Singapore Airlines Business class on their A350 from Seattle to Singapore offers a fantastic trans-pacific long haul experience. Superb service, excellent food, and a unique (and somewhat controversial) seat round out one of my favorite ways to get to Asia.

Overall Rating:

I’ve flown this specific leg a number of times before, so I already knew what to expect, and what to watch out for – namely the importance of seat selection.

Singapore Air’s Business Class seat on their long haul A350s has mixed reviews online. Most of the seats have an odd foot cubby design that forces a bit of an angle sleep that some may not appreciate. However, their bulkhead seats do not have this issue. Bulkheads (rows 11 and 19) have a much more spacious foot area, akin to a first class seat. These seats are not available for selection typically when booking, but are made available around 48 hours before departure.

I grabbed one of these seats (and have always been fortunate to do so) so do not have experience in the ‘lesser seats’.

How I Booked Singapore Airlines Business Class

The Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer milage plan offers a pretty straightforward pricing plan for flights from Seattle to Singapore. They can be found for 105,000 KrisFlyer Miles* plus 5 dollars in taxes relatively regularly on saver fares.

A little on the ‘expensive’ side miles wise (comparatively, Aeroplan often has 87,500 points availabilities to Singapore), 105k for a more ‘idea’ day suits me.

There was a bit of a kerfuffle during my points transfer – I transferred 105k chase points to KrisFlyer and this took over a weekend. Transfer initiated on a Friday, finished on Monday. I am not certain if this is because this was the first transfer I did from Chase (historically used Amex which takes 1-2 hours) or if this is their regular policy, but fortunately I was still able to snag the flight I needed.

KrisFlyer has undergone some changes recently and all miles bookings have gotten up to about 20 percent more expensive as of November 1st 2025. This is unfortunate as it makes already miles-expensive flights even more expensive. I doubt I will use them much in the future.

Singapore Airlines A350 Business Class Lounge

Singapore Airlines does not currently operate any proprietary lounges at SeaTac airport, so Business class passengers have access to the ‘Club SEA’ lounge in the South Satellite. This is also also a priority pass lounge.

Singapore does codeshare with Alaska, sadly no lounge partnership at this time though.

Singapore Airlines A350 Business Class Boarding

Boarding began about 10 minutes late from gate S12. There is only one jetbridge today, to the middle galley. Meaning that economy passengers walk through the secondary (smaller) business class cabin section. This is the only drawback of the middle galley, but worth it for the bulkhead seat I think.

I always enjoy flying these A350s for a number of reasons, but one being they tend to lack the middle overhead bins which really allows the cabin to feel all that more spacious.

After economy boards, the FAs are around with welcome drinks (tomato, apple, or orange) as well as hot towels. This might be the hottest hot towel ever (Starlux take notes)

Towels and glasses are then cleared, and FA around to introduce herself and confirm lunch and drink orders just before our 945 on time pushback.

Singapore Airlines A350 Business Class Seat

Singapore Airlines uses a very unique seat on their longhaul A350s. It is exceptional for the bulkhead options, but my understanding is the rest of these seats you have to sit at an angle while sleeping with the little cubby hole as the only place for your feet.

The bulkhead seats though offer a ‘first class’ worth of space, and 100 percent worth checking before departure to see if one is available.

The seat itself is wide and spacious, with good options for controls. It does however lack a massage feature that I have seen around.

Pillows and blankets are at the seat, along with socks, slippers, and a sleeping mask.

I believe this cubby is normally where your feet would be stuck, however in the bulkhead there is a large bench below the screen.

Two USB chargers and an HDMI input (I’ve never used this feature – what does it do?) as well as a international outlet well located above the right shoulder area.

Headphone plug is located near the seat controls, away from teh console which is great. On the right side of the plane, the plug is on the left which is perfect for my headphones (which have the wire out of the left earbud). Perhaps something to note if your headphones are otherwise.

An instructional video plays shortly after takeoff describing how to turn the seat into a bed (not a simple button push)

The flip down bed design is a bit controversial in the space, but I for one like it. It allows for a massive bed, and coupled with bulkhead seating a truly first class space.

Bed is made up with a good thick mattress topper, extra pillows and sheets.

Wide, spacious and well designed. A leading product in 2013 holding up over a decade later.

Seat location in the second cabin is not ideal – it is just behind the main galley, so it is a bit loud and bright during service. Plus the ‘lavatory light’ is bright when cabin lights are dimmed. I’d strongly recommend taking row 11 if available as the best seats on the plane, and then (depending on your foot rest/bed preferences) either row 19 for the bulkhead, or any seat in the forward cabin. Avoid the second cabin if possible.

Singapore Airlines A350 Business Class In Flight Entertainment

Screen is starting to show its age compared to others I’ve been on recently. A bit on the small size and the bulkhead puts it further away than normal.

Remote is well placed to control the TV though, and there are plenty of options of both TV shows and films. Well categorized too rather than just a jumble. Lots of ads are shown before a movie which I find annoying.

Free WiFi is offered for First and Business passengers, as well as a few other categories of passenger. Not fast, but adequate – I have streamed live Champions League games on it in the past.

Singapore Airlines A350 Business Class Meals

Singapore Airlines is always regarded for their outstanding food service, underlined by their ‘book the cook’ menu items available for preorder. The list out of Singapore is much more extensive, but still an option today out of SeaTac.

Ive gone with ‘book the cook’ for lunch, and in flight menu for the second meal.

A good looking in flight menu.

Lunch

My champagne order along with warm nuts are served as food service begins about 1 hour into the flight.

Starter of a smoked salmon and rock melon salad was fantastic. Light and fresh. Presentation could have been a bit ‘cleaner’ as the greens are a bit haphazard. But thats ok.

The main of the Salmon was also delicious. Cornbread was sweet and moist, with bits of corn inside. The salmon itself was delicious, and the brussel sprouts were cooked well.

A desert selection was then offered – Ice cream, cheese tart, or fruit.

The cheese was nice, as well as the ice cream of course.

Every time I have a cheese plate I cant help but think of the scene from Ratatouille.

Second Meal | 'Midflight Onwards'

Order taken about an hour before normal as I was already awake. FA notes that service will be about 6 hours before landing.

Table set, etc and drink pours shortly afterwards. The FA recalls that I prefer sparkling water and brings that right out which is great.

Appetizer is light and fresh, but again with the haphazard greens.

The main, a chicken dish, was recommended by the FA. Normally I don’t choose chicken as there are more interesting options, but figured why not today.

Potatoes are nice, but nothing particularly standout-ish about the chicken. Good though – tender and juicy with a nice sauce.

The pepper was actually the standout for me.

For dessert, usually I’ll go with a cheese plate and fruit but decided to branch out today.

Apple tart was pleasant, but nothing special.

The chocolate chili crisp wedge (??) with mango however was certainly unique. The underlying spice was different and nice.

Singapore Airlines Business Class In Flight Service

Singapore Airlines service is always top notch, but with a couple of small flaws.

Perhaps unique to the second cabin (row 19 rather than row 11) meal service is a bit slow between courses. I am not sure if it is because they operate front to back, but it is something I have noticed when in this secondary cabin.

Outside of this however, service is fantastic. FAs proactively clear things, offer to make beds, and are very quick on the call button (sub 15 seconds)

Lavatories were also kept spotless, with a quick refresh after each guest. Well stocked with my favorite face mist.

Bottom Line

A 17 hour flight is a long time in the air no matter what class you are flight. But in Singapore Airlines Business class it is possibly one of the best ways to make this long journey accompanied by stellar service, fantastic food, and a comfortable and spacious seat.

I understand Singapore is doing a cabin refresh on these long haul flights coming 2026 and 2027, so excited to see what is on the horizon.
