Singapore Airlines Business class on their Boeing 787-10 from Singapore to Seoul/Inchon offers a great regional business class experience. Fantastic service, good food, and an elevated gate to gate experience keeping Singapore Airlines firmly in my top airlines.

Overall Rating:

This is the first leg of as Singapore to Seattle flight I booked through Aeroplan. I’ve flown Singapore Air long haul business a number of times, as well as recently their regional business class from Singapore to Dehli.

It is always a pleasure to fly Singapore Air out of Singapore, so looking forward to a little quickfire comparison to the Dehli flight.

It is a midnight departure tonight.

How I Booked Singapore Airlines Business Class

This flight was the first leg of a Singapore to Seattle trip that I purchased through through Air Canada Aeroplan using 87,500 Aeroplan points transferred from Chase Rewards and 140 ish Canadian dollars.

I added a multi day stopover in Seoul for an additional 5000 Aeroplan points.

Aeroplan remains probably my favorite transfer partner for Capital One, Chase, and American Express points. All at a 1:1 transfer ratio.

I found this particular availability using Seats.aero.

Singapore Airlines 787 Business Class Lounge

The flight today will be departing from Terminal 2, so I will check out the SilverKris T2 today which I have not been to before.

SilverKris Lounge | Changi Terminal 2

Lounge is located just outside of security, and up an escalator above the main shopping complex.

Medium busy at 11p, but still a good number of seats available.

Space is not as nice as T3 for a number of reasons, chiefly the lack of windows or ‘open space’

It has apparently undergone a light remodel to ‘brighten it up’ and it does feel bright despite no windows and a low ceiling.

Medium seating area off of the larger main area.

Restaurant area with a good amount of table seating, high and low.

Small (comparatively to T3) hot food selection. But a lot of the same offerings.

Made to order chef station with a couple of set menu items.

Seating areas all a bit ‘samey’, but mirrors allow the space to feel a bit bigger than it actually is.

Perhaps marginally less busy than T3 at this hour, but does seem louder due to the tighter layout and lacking the open space/ceilings of the T3 lounge.

When it comes to the Singapore SilverKris lounges at Changi, T3 is definitely the better option.

If you have more than a couple of hours, I would spend my time there for the larger space, more shower rooms, and more extensive food options. T2 is by no means bad, but given the option T3 is the way to go.

Singapore Airlines 787 Business Class Boarding

Security at the gate was quick, but there was no separate line for business/economy. I know some flights offer this, and some do not. I am not sure the pattern.

There is a separate queue for passport check though.

On boarding, champagne and orange juice are offered.

Meal requests and drink order are taken shortly after. I was asked if I’d like the meal right after takeoff. Perfect.

Cabin lights are dimmed and then actually turned off right after cruising, which is interesting as the 2a flight from Singapore to Dehli only offered the meal right after takeoff

Singapore Airlines 787-10 Business Class Seat

This seat is seemingly quite common. I’ve actually flown in this seat somewhat recently on Turkish Airlines. As well as a similar (same?) seat on a Air India Vistara 787. It is generally a good seat, with a few minor gripes.

I enjoy Singapore Airlines color choices – the seat has a pleasant, modern, color palate with a large screen. Even number seats have the wing portion along the window, with the console along the aisle. Blanket and pillow await me in 12K.

Sliding cubby door houses the menu, headphones, water, usb chargers and a plug.

Minimal seat adjustment options, but fortunately today I just need bed mode.

Fully flat bed of course. Footwell is a bit narrow comparatively. I am more used to flying their long haul A350 seats, so I’m a little let down.

No additional mattress was offered, but the seat as a bed was comfortable enough.

Singapore Airlines 787 Business Class In Flight Entertainment

Good sized screen with touch capabilities. Controller to the right is a bit oddly placed – your arm will bump it periodically turning it on mid flight if you are in ‘lounge mode’ and place your arm on the arm rest.

Good selection of media as expected from Singapore, but let down by an increasing number of ads.

Business class gets free in flight WiFi for up to 3 devices.

Headphones are Singapore branded and comfortable. Decent enough product.

Singapore Airlines 787 Business Class Meals

Book the cook is available up to 72 hours prior to takeoff, I forgot to do this but thats ok. Sometimes its good to ‘live dangerously’ and order from the in-flight menu.

Requested champagne passed out as we approach cruising altitude, along with the obligatory warm nuts.

Extensive menu, always lots of drink options on Singapore.

Sleeper Service

Upon actually reading through the menu I can see it is designed for a ‘pre landing’ service. So thats an oops by me.

All was brought out at the same time for this service. The Korean ‘Juk’ was recommended by the FA. Really nice, good flavor. Kind of congee adjacent.

Singapore Airlines Business Class In Flight Service

As expected from Singapore Airlines, service is quick and friendly. I was even allowed to squeeze in a latte less than 30 minutes before landing.

Lavatories of course were spotless and stocked with face mist.

Bottom Line

A solid 9/10 flight. Only drawback is the seat which is a personal preference. And only a drawback because I know much better products exist and are used by competitors.

But excellent service as usual, especially for a redeye. Crew was chipper and cheerful.

Singapore Air is a top choice for regional business class.
